Accredited Mediation Training Courses

Mediation Theory and Practice Skills Training

Mediation is fast becoming an important service within the community, to help people address problems and to avoid conflict and litigation. With fewer services available from within the statutory sector, mediation is promoted by the government as a serious way to help families, organisations and communities deal with conflict.

Mediation Plus has been offering a highly regarded comprehensive training course for our mediators and other agencies for several years. We are now offering this course as a three day accredited Mediation Skills course with Open College Network, London Region.  

Intergenerational (Time2Talk) Mediation Training

The Time2Talk service offers Intergenerational Mediation which supports young people and their families, improving communication, understanding and re-establishing relationships. This one day training course was specifically written for our own mediators to supplement their mediation training and can be offered to anyone who has successfully completed our Mediation Skills training course.  

Peer Mediation Training for Schools and Youth Groups

Mediation Plus offers Peer Mediation training to both primary school and secondary school children in our area. Peer Mediation is a process in which two pupils who have been trained in mediation skills (peer mediators) encourage students who are in conflict to find ways of solving the problem they face or to explore new ways of looking at the situation. We can also offer Peer Mediation training for young people in supported housing schemes or youth groups.

Conflict Resolution and Communication Courses

In addition Mediation Plus offer one day courses in:

Dealing with Conflict (Level 3): Every day work situations can become confrontational when dealing with people, who are stressed, worried or have major concerns regarding their health, family or work. This training will promote an understanding of the triggers and responses to conflict and how these can be dealt with to avoid misunderstanding and negative outcomes.

Communication Skills (Level 3): Become a more effective communicator. Learn to deal with difficult situations through understanding how to both listen effectively, and communicate positively through body language and the use of different communication styles.
